池田満寿夫記念館

油絵、版画、小説、映画、陶芸、書など芸術のあらゆる分野で活躍したマルチアーティストの池田満寿夫さんが亡くなって１０年、改めてその芸術が注目を集めている２００７年、
『池田満寿夫記念館』が開館しました。

　１９８２年１２月、熱海に移り住んだ満寿夫さんは、１９８６年１２月、新たに取り組み始めた作陶の場として下多賀に工房を構え、満寿夫の「満」と佐藤陽子さんの「陽」をとって

と名付けました。　その後、【　芸術は私有するものではなく多くの人たちと共有するもの　】　という持論から作品展示場を増築しました。

『　池田満寿夫記念館　』　として開館しているのは、この作品展示場部分で、版画、書、陶、ブロンズなどを展示しています。（２００８年７月展示替しました。）

Ikeda Masuo Museum
--Touch of Inspiration and Climax of Concentration--

Ikeda Masuo Museum, opened on November 3, 2007, is a gallery Masuo had built in October 1990 to share his fine art works and perspectives with many people.  Approximately 60 items of his works, including ceramics he created in the Man-Yo Kobo Studio adjacent to the Museum, wood block prints, calligraphy, bronze sculptures are exhibited.

Once you visit the Museum, you can enjoy beautiful surrounding Masuo loved, a clean stream of Miyagawa, mountains of Izu Peninsula, and seasonal flowers and sculptures placed in the yard, aside from his fine art.

Open  9:30 am - 4:30 pm (Please come before 4:00 pm) on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and national holidays
Fees:  500 yen (adult), 300 yen (high school students) (100 yen discount for groups of 20 or more)
Directions:   5 min. drive from Shimotaga intersection on Route 135.
   10 min. drive from Yamabushi Pass on Izu Skyline and Atami Ohito Line.
   10 min. by taxi from Ajiro Station and 20 min. from Atami Station.
   25 min. walk from Shimotaga stop on the bus route between Atami and Ajiro Stations.
