池田満寿夫・佐藤陽子　創作の家

版画、油彩、陶芸、書、小説、などマルチアーティスト
の名をほしいままにした芸術家、池田満寿夫。

幼い頃から才能を認められ世界を舞台に活躍した
ヴァイオリニスト、佐藤陽子。

天才と呼ばれた二人が１９８２年１２月から１９９７年
３月に池田満寿夫氏が亡くなるまでの間、住居兼アト
リエとして、過ごしました。

この家は２０００年１２月佐藤陽子さんから熱海市に
寄贈され、「池田満寿夫･佐藤陽子　創作の家」として
２００５年１１月、開館しました。

創作の家では、池田満寿夫さんの版画や油絵、陶
などの芸術作品を始め、佐藤陽子さんが演奏活動で
使用したドレスや楽譜、そして、池田満寿夫さんが
芥川賞を受賞した小説「エーゲ海に捧ぐ」の直筆原稿
も展示しています。

館内には喫茶コーナーもあります。

池田満寿夫デザインのカップでコーヒーや紅茶を召し
上がりながら、二人が過ごした気取らない、でも華や
かな暮らしをゆっくりご堪能ください。

当館では年３回展示替えを行っております。

Sosaku-no-ie

-- House of Artists, Masuo Ikeda & Yoko Sato--

Masuo Ikeda achieved fame as a multi-artist, for his talents in block prints, ceramics, water paints, novels and movie making.  Yoko Sato, being called a child prodigy, has played the violin at theaters across the globe since girlhood.  These 2 geniuses lived together and refined their artistry in this house.  We hope you will share the fine pieces of Masuo, a scene from Yoko's music world and a reproduction of their fabulous but unpretending way of life.

This house, where the couple lived and created their works from December 1982 to Mr. Masuo Ikeda's death in March 1997, was contributed to Atami City in December 2000 from Ms. Yoko Sato.

Closed   Tuesdays (Please ask us schedules on yearend/new year holidays.)

Direction:   13 min. walk from Atami Station

There is no parking space on the site.  Take a bus #6 for Izusan Shrine or a bus #4 for MOA Museum and get off at "Momoyama" stop.  It is 10 min. walk from the Atami Ekimae City Parking.
